Tuesday 18th June

Year 6 children visited St Laurence church to see Ellington Infant’s ‘Woodland installation’. The project was inspired by The Lost Words book written by Robert Macfarlane.

Friday 30th November

We had a brilliant trip to Kent Life this Tuesday.

This week in Maths we have been learning about fractions. We have learnt how to subtract, add and times fractions so they have the same denominator so we can add them together.

This week in Topic we have written a (summary) about what we liked the most at Kent Life! We also did a WW2 propaganda poster!

Welcome back to the 6S class blog.IMG 0978

This week we visited Canterbury Cathedral, we arrived at school early to catch the 9:03 train. There were six other schools attending the events at the Cathedral.

Our first event consisted of going round different activities using our senses and feelings. After this we got to meet a stone mason and carve our initials in to a stone. This was so much fun! After we completed this we attended a service with lots of students from different schools.

We all had a great day.

Friday 2nd November 2018

Welcome back to the 6S blog, this week we had an outdoor learning day. This took place on Thursday but unfortunately we only managed to complete one activity because of the rain. Luckily we are doing some orienteering today and the rest of the activities are going to be moved to another date.

Hi, this week we’ve attempted to climb the apparatus-and it was quite challenging! We also tried to climb the ropes but, yet again, it was quite difficult.

On Tuesday, we developed our coding skills using Espresso Coding. Later on in the week, we made a timeline of the events of World War II and played netball on Friday.

Friday 5th October 2018

Hello, this week in 6S we have had a very fun week! On Monday afternoon we had a brilliant DT lesson with Mrs Cook, we wrote a plan about making gas masks. On Thursday we had an inter-house poetry competition. Which involved us going in the hall and watching everyone perform; throughout the day we wrote and listened to all sorts of poems. On our personal favourite day (Friday) we had a very long assembly because all of the School Councillors and House Captains were revealed! During Friday afternoon, we had a brilliant P.E lesson, playing netball, but now we are just excited for the weekend!
